What Document Allows Sherforce To Enforce My Judgment?
The document which gives Sherforce its authority is called a Writ of Execution or is more commonly known as a “Writ of Fieri Facias”, which is Latin for “cause to be made of the goods”. The Writ is more commonly known as “Writ of Fi Fa”.
The Writ is issued by the High Court on payment of a court fee and is Sherforce authority to execute the Writ by either:
Collecting money from the debtor, or
Taking (“impounding”) goods to be sold at auction to pay what is owed. Hence, the Latin expression “cause to be made of the goods”.
