As a result of a change in the law, it is now possible for Employment Tribunal Awards to be enforced using Sherforce High Court Enforcement Officers as if they were CCJ s. The new scheme called "The Employment Tribunal Fast Track Scheme" was introduced on 6th April 2010.
If you have an Employment Tribunal Award , or if you are advising someone who is in receipt of an Award, you can use our online form to instruct a Sherforce High Court Enforcement Officer to attend at the employer's address to enforce payment.
To take advantage of the scheme your Award must be over £600, which may be made up of the amount of the Award, and costs and interest which were awarded to you. The Award should be less than 6 years old.
Some people get confused on whether they can enforce a judgment which was made sometime ago. In fact the law allows enforcement of an Award which is up to 6 years old. Our new system allows successful employees to re-open their efforts to make sure they are paid. We would encourage you to try again if you know that your old employer is still trading!
To use the service a fee of £50.00 is payable. This is paid to the High Court when sealing the paperwork (which is called "the Writ of Fieri Facias").
But don't let that put you off - instructing us is easy! If you complete the form on this website you can either pay the fee using a credit or debit card, or you can just fill in the boxes and when you get to the end arrange to print it off and send it to us with a cheque for £50.00 made payable to "The SLC".
We would recommend that you complete our form using the paperwork you have received from the Tribunal. If you need assistance our legal team are on hand to help as we think the form can be quite tricky!
Please click on the form below to start the transfer process. If you need any further information or help please call our Legal Team on 0845 890 9210 or email Sherforce at awardenquiries@shergroup.net . One of the team will take you through the process and make sure you are comfortable with any steps you want to take.
