Under the court rules, Sherforce cannot enforce judgments under £600 or those which are based on a Consumer Credit Agreement
(
click here for an explanation of this), so instead Sherforce has an alternative.
Sherforce Plus is the answer for creditors who want to use the skills of a Sherforce Officer but whose debt is too low in value or
where the debt is based on a Consumer Credit Agreement.
Sherforce Plus Recovery Officers have all the skills of Sherforce Enforcement Officers including negotiating for full payment or a
satisfactory offer, and will talk to the debtor about their circumstances and report back so that creditors can make informed
decisions about what to do next.
Sherforce Plus has the same online reporting system so that creditors can track the progress of their field visit and Officers will
report back to the same high quality as they do when enforcing a Writ.
All we would say is that Sherforce Plus Recovery Officers do not have the power to seize or remove goods and we have to be very
clear about that. That said, often the fact that the Officer is at the debtor’s address and is talking to the debtor about how they
intend to pay means the debtor will come up with an offer of payment which is related to their financial situation.
