Alan began his career in the enforcement industry in 1985 working in Local Government taxation, in both the old General Rates Office and then seeing in the Poll Tax and Council Tax systems. He left Local Authority work in 1993 and joined the Sheriffs Office in Yorkshire . Alan passed the Sheriffs' Association examination in 1995 and was appointed a Sheriffs' Officer in Yorkshire in the same year.

In 2003 Alan joined Shergroup in anticipation of the changes coming into force and in April 2004 he was appointed as an Authorised High Court Enforcement Officer by the Lord Chancellor.

In 2007 he was appointed Shergroup's Chief Operations Officer with a brief to manage the field based operations of Sherforce. He has developed a dedicated Operational Support Team who control the day to day service levels of Sherforce both onshore and offshore

Since the inception of Sherforce, Alan has been an important stakeholder in the development of the Award Winning SHERPA system and works closely with the SHERPA user community to ensure their requirements are developed into SHERPA as real system enhancements for the benefit of all Sherforce online users

Alan is a member of the Board of the High Court Enforcement Officers' Association, currently serving in the role of Treasurer and has a commitment to build professional standards throughout the enforcement industry as well as promoting the benefits of using HCEOs |
